Tea tree oil is an essential oil. It is created from the distillation of the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, a tree native to Australia. Tea tree oil has been used for a variety of medicinal purposes for decades. It is a known anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-microbial, antiseptic, and antibacterial essential oil. Indigenous Australians once used the crushed leaves to treat colds and other illnesses, as well as injuries.
Medical curative properties of tea tree oil include its anti-nail fungus properties. Nail fungus is an extremely common nail problem.
